About

Marcela Tuler de Oliveira is an Assistant Professor in Trustworthy Data Systems at Delft University of Technology, within the ICT section of the Department of Engineering Systems & Services. With a background in Telecommunications Engineering, her research focuses on trustworthy digital infrastructures for secure cross-organisational data sharing.

Her work investigates the use of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) to support secure data sharing, access control, traceability, and accountability. A central aspect of her research is understanding how these mechanisms can balance security requirements with scalability and performance in distributed environments.

Her research spans application domains including healthcare, aviation, finance, and smart cities, with the broader goal of enabling data-driven collaboration while preserving privacy, security, and trust between organisations.

Marcela is actively involved in European research initiatives addressing trustworthy data management and distributed systems. She also contributes to teaching and supervises Bachelor, Master’s, and PhD researchers at TU Delft.
