About
Marijn Janssen is Professor of ICT & Governance at Delft University of Technology, within the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management. His research focuses on the interaction between digital technologies, governance, organisations, and public-sector innovation.
His work investigates the design and orchestration of complex public-private service networks, where multiple organisations collaborate while operating under different objectives, technological capabilities, regulatory requirements, and institutional constraints. His research spans digital government, data ecosystems, open data, digital transformation, and the governance of emerging technologies.
Marijn has made extensive contributions to the international digital-government research community through research, academic leadership, editorial activities, and interdisciplinary collaborations. His work frequently examines how technological innovation can be introduced responsibly while addressing organisational, regulatory, societal, and governance challenges.
He is also involved in initiatives connecting academia, government, industry, and society to support the development of innovative and trustworthy digital public services.
