About

Mark de Reuver is Professor of Digital Platforms at Delft University of Technology. His research focuses on the design and governance of digital platforms and platform ecosystems, particularly in contexts where technological innovation intersects with organisational and societal concerns.

His work investigates new generations of digital platforms, including data platforms, data spaces, and decentralised platforms. A central theme of his research is how platforms can be designed to enable openness and innovation while addressing concerns such as privacy, safety, governance, and digital sovereignty.

His research combines perspectives from platform architecture and governance to develop design-relevant knowledge for digital infrastructures. He is particularly interested in data-driven and AI-enabled platform ecosystems and in understanding how viable business models can be developed while preserving important societal values.

His work has been applied across domains including healthcare, mobility, energy, and the broader data economy.
